Sedgman supports next phase of growth for North American Lithium

    Publicado em

Sedgman, a member of the CIMIC Group and the cornerstone of ACS Group’s global critical minerals platform, is supporting the expansion of the North American Lithium (NAL) operation in Québec, Canada, through an ongoing feasibility study and recently awarded detailed design mandate.

Following the completion of the project’s updated scoping and prefeasibility studies, Sedgman is working closely with Elevra Lithium to progress the staged expansion of one of North America’s largest hard-rock lithium operations.

Building on the outcomes of the updated scoping study released in May 2026, Sedgman is delivering a feasibility study and has been awarded the detailed design scope for the stage one expansion to process 4,500 t/d of lithium-bearing spodumene ore. The scope includes enhancements across the existing concentrator including crushing, milling, magnetic separation, flotation, filtration, dewatering and ore sorting aimed at increasing throughput and improving overall plant performance.

Sedgman Managing Director, Grant Fraser, said: “We’re proud to support Elevra in advancing this important North American lithium asset. Our global experience in lithium, combined with Sedgman’s proven capability in delivering complex brownfield expansions, positions us to support a robust and practical expansion aligned with their accelerated development objectives.”

The NAL operation in Québec is one of North America’s most significant sources of spodumene concentrate, Sedgman says. Following the updated study, the project is progressing with a staged development approach focused on increasing production capacity, improving operational efficiency and delivering long-term value.

Sedgman’s contribution supports Elevra’s objective to streamline permitting, fast-track incremental production and reduce unit operating costs across the life of mine as the project advances towards future execution, it says.
