DHL Supply Chain says it is expanding its presence in the Eindhoven region, one of Europe’s most important technology and logistics hubs, following the assumption of responsibility for warehousing operations for Sandvik.

Application areas include rock drilling, rock cutting, loading and hauling, tunneling and quarrying.

As part of the transition, DHL supply Chain has taken over responsibility for a workforce of more than 340 logistics professionals, ensuring operational continuity while preserving valuable expertise and experience.

The new partnership further strengthens DHL Supply Chain’s position in the strategically important Eindhoven region and underlines the company’s continued growth in the Netherlands, one of Europe’s key logistics markets, it says. With extensive experience supporting global customers in the engineering & manufacturing sector, DHL will provide Sandvik with scalable warehouse operations, industry-leading quality standards and access to the broader capabilities of the DHL Group. Spare parts management services are also part of the service offering – a specialised area in which DHL has established a leading position.

Sandvik is a global engineering company with operations in more than 150 countries. The Eindhoven site serves as an important EMECIS hub for service parts logistics and plays a crucial role in supplying customers across Europe, the Middle East and CIS region. From this location, critical spare parts are distributed quickly and efficiently, which is essential for maintaining the operational continuity of Sandvik customers.

Through the partnership, DHL will not only provide warehousing services such as wooden crate packaging and AutoStore solutions, but also leverage its operational excellence programs, digital capabilities and continuous improvement expertise to support future Sandvik growth, the company says. Transportation to and from the warehouse is managed in collaboration with DHL Global Forwarding and DHL Express.
