2019 Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves Best Practice Guidelines Adopted by CIM Council

    Publicado em

The Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) is pleased to announce that the 2019 Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves Best Practice Guidelines was adopted by CIM Council on November 29, 2019. The 2019 CIM MRMR Best Practice Guidelines document supersedes the initial version of the document which was adopted by CIM Council in November 2003.

“We are proud that CIM continues its important leadership role in providing guidance on the preparation of Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve estimates,” stated Roy Slack, President of CIM. “We thank the 2019 MRMR Best Practice Committee and all the volunteers for their time and tremendous effort in preparing these MRMR Best Practice Guidelines.”

“This document represents the end product of two years of intense effort by the Committee, with considerable input from a group of knowledgeable and experienced volunteers, each with extensive experience in their subject area,” added CIM MRMR Committee Co-Chairs Deborah McCombe and Garth Kirkham. “We expect this document will be a seminal reference source for Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve estimators not only within Canada, but internationally as well.”

As a result of a robust peer review and industry consultation period, the 2019 MRMR Best Practice Guidelines document is a reflection of the current views and technical opinions of the practitioners who prepare Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve estimates.

Copies of the 2019 MRMR Best Practice Guidelines can be obtained from the CIM website at https://mrmr.cim.org/en/best-practices/estimation-of-mineral-resources-mineral-reserves.
